Montgomery, AL – The first day of the $20,000 Main Event kicked off at Montgomery International Dragway, bringing racers together to pay tribute to Mike Smith, whose contributions to the drag racing community were deeply felt. Mikey Morris from Ellenwood, GA, took home the cash prize and a large check after defeating Blake Fuqua in the final round. He completed ten rounds to reach the winner’s circle. Donny Burleson was the lone semi-finalist, while Trampus Stewart and Warren Cupp were the quarter-finalist.
Three Days from now we will race in honor of a racer who made a huge impact in the Drag Racing Community, Mike Smith. He will forever be remembered and he is truly missed. Join us for the annual Mike Smith Memorial Bracket Race, October 9-13 at Montgomery International Dragway.
