Montgomery, AL โ This weekend, racers honored local legend Mike Smith, with a memorable victory by his close friend Jeremy Hancock. Hancock claimed the $20,000 top prize on Saturday after defeating Lester Adkins in an all-dragster final.
Veteran racer Buddy Ferrell reached the semifinals but lost after a .002 red light and a dead-on-one run against Adkins. Stephen McCrory and Ty Farmer rounded out the quarterfinalists.
In the second-chance Duck Race, Kholten Fuller drove his fatherโs Mopar Duster to victory, winning the $5,000 prize after beating Josh Jarrell in the final round.
